A Hidden Treasure in The Hamptons

After a crazy month of work, we were searching for the perfect fall getaway. We were looking for a relaxing road trip where we could bring our dog buddy and enjoy some luxury accommodations. I had heard about the EHP Resort and Marina from friends who live in the Hamptons, NY area, but was so excited to try it for myself.

The Hamptons during the prime season can be crowded and a bit of a scene for me. I have always enjoyed visiting the area off-season and this was no exception. With the leaves changing and the quieter restaurants and streets, it made for the perfect time for our restful getaway.

Our stay at EHP (East Hampton Point) Resort and Marina was exceptional. The property is set on nine acres of waterfront property on the peaceful Three Mile Harbor, just 10 minutes from East Hampton. EHP offers a relaxed luxury in their cottages and suites creating an atmosphere that is calm and chic with sunsets that take your breath away. Our room was well appointed with a small kitchen, two fireplaces, a lovely bathtub (always a dream for me), and Aqua Di Parma bath products. And honestly, our room was so cozy, it was really hard to leave it. But we wanted to do some exploring in the East Hampton town.

We did not arrive until dinner time on our first night, so we ventured off to the iconic, The Palm, to enjoy dinner at the bar with one of their classic martinis. We loved our fresh seafood dishes and the company of some locals at the bar, but after a long drive, it was time to go home and snuggle in front of the fireplace.

Our next day began with fresh coffee from Bonjourno, EHP’s on-property coffee shop. We sat on the waterfront and took our time sipping our coffee before heading to our massages at Naturopathica. Each of our therapists took the time to understand what we wanted from our treatments and the facilities were relaxing.

In the afternoon, we drove to Wolffer Estate Vineyard for a wine tasting. Wolffer is known for their sweeping views of vineyards and horse stables along with their well-known rosé, Summer In a Bottle. We enjoyed a flatbread and a flight of their popular wines while enjoying the great views. I did notice that on Fridays that they have live music, so I cannot wait to go back!

We closed the evening at a local Hamptons favorite old school Italian restaurant, Sams. They do not take reservations, so we lucked out as there was a table leaving upon our arrival. I loved the authenticity and vibe of this place.

It has become an ongoing joke in my marriage that my wife, Anne, makes me participate in Tik Tok dances when we travel to various locations. And well, this trip was no different. If you want to view the Megan Trainor dance, I have included the link below. Keep your expectations low!

On our way out of town, we stopped at a fresh vegetable stand to stock up then to a delicious last seafood lunch at Bostwicks. We were able to sit outside in the fall sunshine with our pup before saying goodbye to East Hampton.
