One Night in Charleston

Charleston has been on my bucket list for years. I could not believe that I had never been to visit this magical city. Finally, I was in the area for a family occasion and decided to do a quick one night trip to Charleston.

Driving into this city is a beautiful experience. The architecture reminds me slightly of my hometown of New Orleans. The gaslights, the rod iron fencing and unique designs were all familiar. However, the history of the two cities are vastly different.

We drove into the stunning Belmond Hotel at Charleston Place and were greeted by a gorgeous fountain of regal horses. The hotel staff was polished and attentive. We were upgraded to the Club level room which offers snacks and an open bar. The room was well appointed and beautiful. We also enjoyed our complimentary breakfast via room service.

The concierge advised us on the best way to see the area via a walking tour through the historical area. We were able to get a lovely taste of Charleston in just one night.

For our meals, our concierge selected restaurants with our specific requirements of casual, fresh seafood and average price range. He did an excellent job selecting them and supplied easy to follow walking directions.

This was a wonderful one night stay. I only wish we could stay longer!
